Fibaro Roller Shutter 2 Module

Fibaro Roller Shutter 2 Module
FIBARO Roller Shutter 2 is a module designed to control AC motorised roller blinds, awnings, venetian blinds, gates and other single phase, AC powered devices. FIBARO Roller Shutter 2 allows precise positioning of roller blinds or venetian blind lamellas. The device is equipped with power and energy monitoring. The module is designed to be mounted inside a “flush mounting box”, hidden behind a traditional wall switch.

As with all other Actors, FIBARO Roller Shutter 2 allows to control connected devices either via the Z-Wave network or via a switch connected directly to it.

Ease of use and installation by qualified electrician only .

It's Aus/NZ model, the frequency: 921.42 MHz.

You can purchase this Fibaro Roller shutter 2 to work with our DC114M to control those Built-in 433.2 MHz RF receiver tubular motors or curtain motors.

This Fibaro Roller Shutter 2 is fully compatible with our 82TS 4 wires curtain motor, you can do auto calibration from the z-wave controller like Fibaro HC 2, so you can know the exact curtain position and can percentage control the curtain without the problem. Of course, in this case, it's better you should connect the module with toggle switch like DC866A switch.

82TS curtain motor is fully compatible with Fibaro Roller shutter 2 Z-wave module without of any issue. We have tested all of Fibaro RS2 , Qubino Flush shutter and TBK roller shutter controller with 82TS curtain motor before, sometimes we confused each other, now we can confirm only Fibaro Roller Shutter 2 Z-Wave module is fully compatible, the other two are not. So from now on, if you want to use the Z-Wave module to control the motorised curtain track, we will recommend you to use the 82TS 4 wires standard curtain motor with Fibaro RS2 module, it can do auto calibration and position controlling through the Z-Wave controller.
Programing and setting are pretty simple and easy:

1, Q1 of the Z-Wave module should connect to the black colour wire on the 82TS motor, Q2 should connect to the Brown colour wire on the motor, to make sure the moving direction will match the direction on the interface of the Z-Wave controller ;
2, After you finish the wires connecting, you need to add Fibaro RS 2 device on your Z-Wave controller, most importantly, you need to change the valve of parameter 18 to "3 W" and the valve of Parameter 22 to "0", it means Motor operation time functionality inactive, It's very important, otherwise if you don't do so, the curtain motor will just move very short period of time.
3, To set up the limit position, click the open (up) button on the interface of the Z-Wave controller, the tackle will hit the side edge once, then click the close (down) button, for the two way curtain track, the two tackle will hit each other in the middle of the track, for the one way track, the tackle will hit the other side edge once, then the 82TS will remember the limit position automatically;
4, Click calibration button on the interface of Z-Wave controller, the motorised curtain track will automatically fully open, fully close and fully open again. All done, it's pretty simple.
5, In case of the power blackout, then if you pull the tackle by hand or you remove the motor from the track, move the tackle, the limit position will be changed, then you need to reset the limit position again,
you just need to click the open and close button a couple times, the limit position will be set up again, carry on step number 4 again, then it will be all good again.

It also can work with 82TV and 72TV 5 wires curtain motors without major problem, there are a lot of people in the world said Fibaro roller shutter 2 module can not control 82TV curtain motor, the movement of opening or closing only last about 1 second and travels very short distance, we found there are two kind of solutions :
First solution is : the reason causes this problem is because both of the 82TV and 72TV motor default high voltage switch mode setting is for bistable (toggle) Switches, and Fibaro send the operation signal to Q1 or Q2 , the signal only can last very short period, so the curtain motor can only move very short distance, so the first thing you need to do is set the curtain motor like usually: set up the RF handheld remote, set the open and close limit position by the 82TV or 72TV motor itself, and then you should follow the 82TV or 72TV motor's instruction to use the remote to change the motor's switch mode from the factory default setting ( Bi-stable) to Monostable ( Momentary ) switch mode, then you should connect the Fibaro module with a momentary switch.
The second solution is: if you do not want to do the setting above by using remote, then you can simply just change the both of valve setting of parameter No 18 (Motor operation detection) and Parameter No 22 (Motor operation time) to value " 0 ", it means reaching a limit switch will not be detected and motor operation time function disable, It's very important step, you can resolve the problem of curtain motor only can move very short distance, in this case, you only and should connect the module with toggle switch, although you don't have to connect with switch.
The only problem is because the 82TV and 72TV motor has electronic memory limit position function itself, you can not do auto Calibration through Z-Wave module or the main controller, you can click and control the curtain open, close and stop, but you could not know the exactly position of the curtain moving and you can not set the curtain opening or closing percentage through the main controller UI as well, the Icon on the UI only can show fully open or fully close.
